Admissions
Greetings:
We are pleased you are interested in The Meadows School! The School community is composed of families who value challenging and rigorous learning, respect the art of teaching, and desire a secure, nurturing environment for their children. Choosing the best educational environment and a place where students thrive is more important today than ever.
Some fifth grade students wrote an article this year listing the "Top 10 Reasons Why You Would Want to be at The Meadows School." A few of them include:
"We receive many chances to learn how to speak publicly and have fun at the same time through speeches and programs."
"Honesty is always reinforced at this School so everyone can be trusted."
"The Meadows is a working and caring family."
"The Meadows School has the best education in Nevada."
Those are hard reasons to top, but we might add that the School's experienced faculty (nearly 70% have advanced degrees in their subject areas) is devoted to helping each student develop his or her interests, skills, and talents. The importance of serving others through myriad community service initiatives is stressed as well as learning about the world through projects and trips that have broad perspectives. A component of the School's mission is to encourage each student to embrace a life-long love of learning with a commitment to helping others.
Acting on the founding principles, The Meadows admits academically ambitious and able students interested in exposure to like-minded peers who desire a strong college preparatory curriculum. Meadows students are intelligent and engaged learners, well prepared for the challenging classes and expansive programs. They attend colleges and universities that are among the most selective in the country. To see a three-year history of The Meadows college / university enrollment, click here.
If you are interested in applying for your child, it is our pleasure to help you through the admissions process. This website provides an overview of that process as well as checklists, application forms, teacher recommendation forms, and other documents applicable at each grade level. However, you are encouraged to schedule a tour to see first-hand the exciting learning opportunities available to your child that words cannot express. Please contact the admissions person named for each of the Division Schools, and they will be happy to assist you in the application process, or you may call my office at (702) 254-1610, or send an e-mail to me at cgoodman@themeadowsschool.org if you have additional questions. We look forward to helping you as you make this important decision for your child and family.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Goodman Head of School / Founder and Trustee Emeritus
