There are also several different types of search utilities which can be used to locate information:
Directory: Directory-style programs search the Web by category. The results are indexed and grouped by humans.

Search Engine: A robot or "spider" conducts an automatic search that scans every word on every page.

MetaSearch: The program searches several search engines and reports the results.

Search Tips:
- Use "around phrases"
- Use AND, NOT, OR to limit or expand searches.
- Use + to show the next word is needed.
- Use – to show the next word cannot be included in the search.
- Use wildcard keys, *, ! and ? to expand searches.
