Want to know more about the Star-Spangled Banner, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., trains and railroads, or September 11, 2001? The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, in partnership with Verizon's Thinkfinity.org, is proud to offer the OurStory Web site. The Museum's family Web site offers free, themed activities for exploring American history through reading and hands-on experiences. Activities include field trips, technology-based investigations, arts-and-crafts projects, and opportunities to learn from the over 3 million objects in the collections of the National Museum of American History.

New Resource: History and the Headlines: Hispanic Heritage Month (posted 9/26/2011)
Every year from September 15 to October 15, the United States observes National Hispanic Heritage Month, a time marked to celebrate the many contributions made by Hispanic Americans who have shaped and strengthened this nation. Explore the events, individuals, and issues surrounding the farmworker movement with reliable reference content and primary sources including an informative Feature Story essay, a challenging Examine section, and more than 150 reference entries, images, and annotated primary documents.


New Resource: Salem History Database (posted 9/8/2011)
The online historical database Salem History includes all of the content of their 2010 title Milestone Documents in World History as well as all the content for the entire award-winning "Milestone Documents" series; access is free after registration until December 31, 2011.

NV Energy provides free standards-based educational resources on electricity and responsible energy use, as well as E-Smart Kids games and activities, and teacher's guides.

eBooks Available in EBSCOhost (posted March 31, 2011)
Meadows Library patrons can access a preview of the integration of eBooks on EBSCOhost. Approximately one year ago, EBSCO acquired NetLibrary, a leading eBook provider and platform. You can access this preview of eBooks on EBSCOhost in the following way: Go to the New Features area on EBSCOhost after logging in to TMS's database subscription. From the eBook preview page, you can view eBook Table of Contents from search Result List, and view eBook full text for many science texts.


eBooks Available @ Your Library (posted November 9, 2010)
In addition to the School's print collection, the Library has several titles available electronically as eBooks. From the online catalog (OPAC), enter "gale" as keyword to find eBooks. Each catalog record will display a hyperlinked Elec. Access field which you can click to view the eBook. Login information is available to the School community.
