The Meadows School sixth grade team tied for first place in the nation among 248 teams in the WordMasters Challenge on December 1, 2006, the first of three for the 2006-2007 School year. The eighth grade team did extremely well also, and several seventh grade students earned high honors.
Two sixth grade students received perfect scores. There were only ten perfect scores nationally out of 32,000 students participating. Three sixth grade students missed only one test item.
Three eighth grade students received perfect scores, and four missed only one item. There was seven-way tie among Meadows eighth grade students for "The Five Next-Best Participants."
One seventh grade student received a perfect score, and two missed only one item.
