UPPER SCHOOL ART INSTRUCTOR (posted January 24, 2012) Full-time position for 2012-2013 school year, starting in August 2012 Private, nonsectarian, nonprofit, pre-K through 12 college preparatory school with rigorous, traditional curriculum seeks experienced art teacher to join the Upper School (grades 9-12) faculty. Bachelor's degree in Art and three years minimum teaching experience required. NOTES: U.S. residents only. Employer will assist with relocation costs. Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with education and experience; competitive full-benefits package REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Art and three years minimum teaching experience required, master's degree and independent school experience preferred. AP Studio Art teaching experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of artistic techniques and media in order to provide students with a wide breadth of understanding of art principles. Strong candidates also will have a familiarity with art history and the ability to weave factual and historical information into art classes. Qualifications include the ability to administer juried art shows and to curate the School's gallery space. For this reason, the ability to collaborate with other members of the School's Center for the Arts Team, both inter-divisionally and across a variety of artistic disciplines, is vital.
