GAME 2
Meadows Mustangs: 14 Calvary Chapel: 20
On September 21 and at home The Meadows Mustangs took on a very big Calvary Chapel team. The Mustangs were unable to stop Calvary Chapel's power-running game and take care of the ball on offense. The Mustangs committed five turnovers while Calvary Chapel committed none. Tight end/quarterback Gerard M. '12 had one touchdown receiving and one touchdown passing. Quarterback/tight end Garrett G. '12 also had one touchdown receiving and one touchdown passing. Strong safety Anthony G.'12 played very solidly for The Meadows, stopping running plays. Defensive lineman Jacob J.'12 had another strip and recover but it was called back because forward progress by the running back had been stopped. With time running out fullback Michael K.'12 returned what would have been a touchdown punt return except for his knee had touched the ground earlier. The Meadows completed a 30-yard pass to put them within striking distance, however the clock ran out and the Mustangs were corralled. A great quarterback once said "I never lost a game, we just ran out of time." That quote personifies the Mustangs last lost. The Mustangs next game is Saturday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Indian Springs.
