The Meadows Middle School wrestling team had its big meet of the season after a few weeks of practice. On Saturday January 26, three sixth graders competed in the Crusader Wrestling Tournament held at Faith Lutheran. For Austin N. '14 and Julian P. '14 it was their first experience with the sport of wrestling. Austin N. went for three rounds and had a record of 1 and 2, facing one of the best wrestlers of the meet. Julian P. '14 also went a couple of rounds with a record of 1 and 2. He, too, faced a real tough eighth grader in the first round. The more experienced Stephen K. '14 went undefeated in the tourney, moving up to a higher age group and two higher weight divisions and placing first in his division. This was a great experience for the Middle School wrestling team. Several athletes on the team could not attend because of other scheduling conflicts!
