The Fine and Performing Arts Department is planning the inaugural Spring Renaissance Fair on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The fair will be held on the Central Mall in front of the Middle School building with two stage areas (one at the top of the stairs in front of the Middle School and one on the grass just west of the CFA). and will include:
Performances: Scenes from Shakespeare from Upper School, Middle School, and Extended Day Lower School drama students; Elite String Ensemble; Upper School and Middle School band and choral departments; wandering mimes, pole walkers, and jugglers. The Gallery will be open in the CFA for touring of the Middle School Juried Art Show.
Activities: Games and activity stations surrounding the green to include such things as: face painting, bobbing for apples, donut line, tattoos, Velcro axe throwing, head wreath making, mask making, pictures in Elizabethan garb, Maypole dance, and a potential game area for bean bag toss, hacky-sack, marbles or jacks.
Food: All activities except food items are free. Snack foods and water will be available for purchase.
Attire: Elizabethan dress will be encouraged and appreciated.
