The Meadows School did an outstanding job on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the First Lego League (FLL) Championship Tournament. Out of a total of 32 teams from around the Las Vegas area, TMS teams brought home three trophies.
The Radioactive Sol Bots, the 6th and 7th grade team, earned 1st place in the Robot Performance competition. They earned 270 points and received the highest point-total trophy. The students on the team were Audrey C. '15, Ian O. '16, and Christian O. '16.
The Flying Mustangs, the 4th and 5th grade team, earned two trophies at the competition. They were awarded the Presentation Award trophy for the skit they presented about pedestrian safety. They also earned a trophy for 2nd place in Robot Performance. They earned 245 points, coming in behind the Middle School team. The teammates had a lot of energy and worked well together. The students on this team were Muhtasim A. '18, Caroline L. '17, Hirsh M. '17, Ethan M. '17, Jahnavi N. '17, Katie O. '18, Dominic P. '17, Isra S. '17, and Matthew W. '17.
The Retro Riders was the youngest team which represented The Meadows School. This team earned 7th place in Robot Performance. They did an excellent job representing our School. This team was comprised of Connor A. '18, Stefan C. '18, Aaron J. '17, Connor N. '18, Sahil P. '18, Elliot S. '19, Julius S. '19, and Simran S. '19.
The Dynamos, the 4th grade team, also had a strong showing, earning 12th place in the Robot Performance category. The students on this team were Sivan B. '18, Ryan C. '18, Tucker H. '18, Ronnie O. '18, Daniel P. '18, Arman S. '18, Jacob S. '18, Ali W. '18, and Antoun Z. '18.
