Meadows After-School ProgramS (MAPS) Highlights and Future Plans

As the fall trimester of the 2022-2023 Meadows After-School Programs (MAPS) nears completion, we'd like to share some highlights with you as well as plans for the future!

During the fall trimester, our incredible instructors hosted 36 courses in addition to Extended Day and Late Pick-Up Mondays-Fridays, welcoming 100 students on average each day. This trimester the students were able to participate in a variety of beloved courses such as Drama, Art, Violin, Guitar, LEGO Discovery, FIRST LEGO League, Tennis, Cheer, Basketball, Volleyball, Craft Corner, and Archery. We also offered new programs this trimester which included Lacrosse, Debate, Sports Fitness, Odyssey of the Mind, Coding with Bee-Bot Robots, American Sign Language, and Book Club.

As the trimester progressed, we collected parent feedback and were able to address many of the requests received for additional, new, or revived courses. In the winter trimester, there will be 2 courses each day for Beginning School students, ensuring our littlest learners have a fun, dynamic time awaiting them once the final bell rings. For Lower School students, we have added another session of Chess as well as K-2 Basketball. In addition, we are excited that coaches Erin Thorn and Jack Concannon will be working together to develop a 3-5 all-girls and 3-5 all-boys basketball team! These teams will be participating in the NCSAA competitive league. We also brought back some favorites and added new courses such as Mandarin Chinese Language and Culture; Ready, Set Grow! (a garden program); Soccer; Track and Field; Wrestling; Mixed Martial Arts; and Super Sports Sampler (a place for students to try out new sports).

November 22: Fall Trimester ends

November 28 - March 3: Winter Trimester

February 2023: Registration for Spring Trimester

March 6 - May 26: Spring Trimester

April 2023: Registration for Camp Mustang

May 30 - July 28: Camp Mustang
