Upper School Counselor
Are you passionate about supporting students during some of the most formative years of their lives? The Meadows School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and student centered Upper School Counselor to join our community for the 2026-2027 academic year.
At The Meadows School, we believe that student success is rooted in strong social emotional well-being. Our counselors play a vital role in helping students navigate academic pressures, personal development, and the complex social dynamics of high school. Located on our beautiful 40-acre campus in Summerlin, Nevada, The Meadows School serves approximately 1,000 students from PreK through 12th grade and is known for its commitment to intellectual curiosity, character development, and a supportive community.

What You'll Do:
As the Upper School Counselor, you will support students’ social, emotional, and developmental needs while collaborating closely with faculty, administrators, and families:
Student Support: Serve as a trusted and approachable presence for students, building meaningful relationships and creating a safe space where they feel heard, supported, and valued
Foster Growth: Partner with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being, address concerns, and develop appropriate intervention strategies when needed
Build Community: Participate in student support meetings, collaborate with the counseling and administrative teams, and contribute to a positive and inclusive Upper School culture
Engage in Professional Excellence: Contribute thoughtfully to a collaborative professional culture, modeling integrity, discretion, and a commitment to continuous learning in service of student well-being and the mission of the school
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, empathetic, and student centered professional who understands the developmental needs of students and values building meaningful relationships within a vibrant school community. This person approaches their work with warmth, discretion, and sound judgment, recognizing that the most eff ective support often begins with trust and connection. They are a visible and approachable presence in the Upper School, actively engaging with students throughout the day in hallways, common spaces, classrooms, and at school events helping to foster a culture where students feel known, supported, and comfortable seeking guidance.:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience working with adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and faculty
- Ability to maintain confi dentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
- Experience supporting student mental health and social-emotional learning
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment

Debate Coach/Instructor
Are you passionate about developing students’ voices, critical thinking, and confi dence through the lens of competitive debate? The Meadows School is seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and student-centered Debate Coach to join our community. This role is instrumental in fostering students’ skills in argumentation, research, and communication while supporting their growth as thoughtful, articulate individuals. The Meadows off ers a nationally competitive full service debate program with a focus on Lincoln Douglas and Policy debate.

Our Debate Coach plays a key role in helping students develop these abilities while contributing to a vibrant, intellectually curious school culture. Located on our beautiful 40-acre campus in Summerlin, Nevada, The Meadows School serves approximately 1,000 students from PreK through 12th grade and is known for its commitment to academic excellence, character development, and a supportive community. As part of our extracurricular and academic programs, you will help create an environment where students feel empowered to express ideas, engage in civil discourse, and challenge themselves intellectually.A successful candidate will possess success coaching experience at the national level in either policy of Lincoln Douglas debate. The Meadows School’s debate program holds a curricular space within the school day and is supported with two full time faculty members and a part time coaching assistant. The team travels a regional and national schedule.
What You'll Do:
As the Debate Coach, you will lead and support students in developing debate skills while collaborating with faculty and administrators:
Coach and Develop Students: Teach the fundamentals of debate, including argument construction, research methods, refutation, and public speaking skills
Lead Practices and Competitions: Organize and lead regular team practices, prepare students for tournaments, and coach students during competitions
Foster Critical Thinking: Help students analyze complex topics, evaluate evidence, and engage in thoughtful, respectful discourse
Build a Strong Program: Recruit and mentor students, help grow the debate program, and create a culture of commitment, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity including a commitment to national competition success
Collaborate with the School Community: Communicate with students, families, and school personnel to support student participation and success
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator or coach who is passionate about debate and student development. This person values building relationships, fostering confi dence, and helping students develop their voice in a supportive and challenging environment:
- Master’s degree required; degree in Communications, English, Political Science, or related fi eld preferred
- Experience in debate (e.g., policy, Lincoln-Douglas, policy debate) and/or coaching debate students
- Strong understanding of argumentation, research, and public speaking techniques
- Ability to mentor students with varying levels of experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and intellectually engaging team culture
- Commitment to collaboration and student-centered practice
- Willingness to travel and supervise students for competition.

Secondary Learning Specialist
Are you passionate about helping students access their learning, build confi dence, and thrive academically? The Meadows School is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and student-centered Secondary Learning Specialist to join our community. Reporting to the Director of Student Support Services and the Division Director(s), the Learning Specialist will design and deliver academic supports that improve student outcomes.
At The Meadows School, we believe that student success is strengthened when each learner is supported with the tools, strategies, and guidance they need to reach their full potential. As an integral member of the student support team, the Secondary Learning Specialist serves as a liaison among students, parents, teachers, administrators, and outside clinicians. The work of this role aligns closely with the school’s mission to support all students’ academic achievement. As part of our collaborative learning support team, you will help foster an inclusive, responsive environment where students in grades 6–12 can grow as confident, capable learners.
What You’ll Do:
As the Secondary Learning Specialist, you will provide direct student support while partnering with faculty, families, and administrators to strengthen academic outcomes and responsive instructional practices:
Support Student Growth: Facilitate grade-level team meetings to analyze student progress, identify learning needs for individual students, and discuss strategies to maximize each student’s growth
Coordinate Student Support Plans: Provide case management for students with accommodation plans, including Student Success Plans (SSPs), and ensure effective implementation across settings
Deliver Targeted Interventions: Provide push-in and pull-out interventions during the school day, while also helping manage before and after-school support options
Collaborate for Student Success: Observe students, partner with teachers and other team members, and contribute to coordinated support plans that meet a range of learner needs
Educate and Build Partnerships: Help educate faculty and parents on topics related to learning differences and cultivate a strong network of community professionals to support students and families
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an experienced and innovative educator who understands the complexities of learning diff erences and is passionate about helping students develop the skills, strategies, and confi dence they need to succeed. This person is flexible, creative, and collaborative, with the ability to partner eff ectively with students, families, faculty, administrators, and outside professionals in support of student growth:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Special Education; Master’s degree preferred
- Strong knowledge base in learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, as well as deep knowledge of ADHD and ASD
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate teaching practices, current research on universal best teaching practices and support for divergent learners, RTI, data-based decision-making, and assessments
- Sound knowledge of adolescent development and pedagogy
- Ability to unwrap standards and provide light reteaching support across grades 6–12 in both Math and Literacy
- Ability to provide executive functioning and study guidance and teach students how to use assistive technology and accommodations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- A flexible and creative team player who is eager to grow and strengthen a learning support program
