A Look Back at The Meadows School History
| 1984:
|
The Meadows School opened its doors on September 4, 1984, to 140 students grades K-6. The School was founded by Board President Carolyn G. Goodman, Head of School Dr. LeOre Cobbley, and a group of dedicated parents. The original campus consisted of 5,000 square feet of prefabricated modular buildings on 1.25 acres of a used car dealership parking lot, loaned by Board member Fletcher Jones, Jr. | ||

1988: |
Students moved to a new 40-acre campus on Scholar Lane. The land was donated by the Howard Hughes Corporation and K-5 students studied in the Dr. LeOre Cobbley Lower School, the first building erected in Summerlin. Classrooms for the older students were housed in the prefabricated buildings trucked over from the original campus. |

1990: |
Fall student enrollment opened with grades K-12, making The Meadows School the first nonprofit, nonsectarian, coeducational, K-12 college preparatory school in Nevada. |

1991: |
The Meadows School held its first Commencement ceremony, graduating three students. |

| 1992: | Richardson-Beckley Gymnasium completed. | ||
| 1993: |
Sarah D. Barder Hall, The Meadows Upper School, completed. |

| 1995: | The L. Harkness Jewett Field House, Creel Field, and Levin/Richardson Track are completed. | ||

1999: |
The Carolyn G. Goodman Beginning School opened with 54 pre-kindergarten students. |

| 2000: | The Wanda Lamb Peccole Center for the Arts is completed. | ||
| 2005: | The Fertitta-Sturm Middle School is completed. | ||
| 2017: | Sher Wing added to the Beginning School allowing additional preschool students to attend The Meadows School. | ||
| 2022: | John & Deana McGraw STEM Center opens, expanding the Sarah D. Barder Hall Upper School building to include a robotics lab, patio space, Lower School science room, and additional classrooms. | ||

The Meadows School educates approximately 950 students per year in grades preK-12. The 40-acre campus houses over 240,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities. Since the first graduating class in 1991, 100% of Meadows graduates have been accepted into four-year colleges and universities. |
