Dr. Jay Berckley, Head of School at The Meadows School, brings a dynamic blend of vision, warmth, and academic leadership to a community long known for its high expectations and deep-rooted values. With an Executive Ed.D. in K–12 Professional Leadership and a background in insight research and cognitive neuroscience, he champions an approach that unites intellectual rigor with character development, creativity, and joy.

During Dr. Berckley’s leadership, Meadows has entered an unprecedented era of achievement: record enrollment, elevated national rankings, expanded programming, and record-setting philanthropic support. These milestones reflect the school’s enduring mission and its upward trajectory as a leader in independent education.

Dr. Berckley’s work is grounded in partnership: with families, faculty, trustees, alumni, and most importantly, with students themselves. He strives to create learning environments where young people discover confidence, purpose, and the courage to achieve at the highest levels.
