Faculty Spotlight: Gabby Santos

This week’s Faculty Spotlight features Mrs. Gabby Santos, who teaches the Pre-K Dragonflies class at The Meadows School. Mrs. Santos is in her fourth year of teaching and her second year at TMS. Before joining The Meadows, she taught Kindergarten for two years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from California State University, Long Beach, a foundation that continues to shape her thoughtful and student-centered approach in the classroom.

For Mrs. Santos, one of the greatest joys of teaching is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a child’s most formative years. She remembers how much her own teachers influenced her as a child, helping her learn how to be a friend, how to be a student, and how to love school. Now, she finds happiness in watching her own students grow from the beginning of the school year to the end, celebrating their hard work, progress, and confidence along the way.

Each morning, Mrs. Santos’ students can expect to be greeted with a big smile, a listening ear, and, when needed, a comforting hug. Her goal is to build her students up and help prepare them for Kindergarten, with a special focus on developing confidence in literacy and early reading skills. Her favorite thing about The Meadows School is the community here. Mrs. Santos’ co-workers feel like family, and the community as a whole, including teachers and families, truly feels like one big family. There’s a sense of home for her when she is on this campus, as the school reminds her of her hometown in California and her own school life. That sense of family is even more meaningful knowing that her daughter will be a Meadows Mustang next year, enrolled in the Beginning School.
