Faculty Spotlight: Olivia Gamazo

For nearly 10 years, Olivia Gamazo has filled the halls of The Meadows School with music, energy, and joy as our Lower School Music Teacher. She teaches K–5 General Music and directs our 4th and 5th grade choir, the Meadows Singers, inspiring students to find their voices and love for music. A UNLV graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (vocal concentration), Olivia also holds Orff-Schulwerk Level Certification from AOSA and Kodály Level 1 Certification. She serves as a board member for the NDVC Local Orff-Schulwerk Chapter and has contributed to the ACDA Elementary Repertoire/Resource Guide, a testament to her passion for growing music education both at Meadows and beyond.

Music doesn’t stop when Olivia leaves campus. She is an active member of the Las Vegas arts community, performing with Opera Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Master Singers, Desert Singers, and EJG Productions. At home, music is a shared calling, her husband is a middle school band director! Even more exciting, the Gamazo family is growing, with Baby Gamazo expected to arrive in April 2026. When she’s not teaching or performing, Olivia loves bargain shopping and thrifting, always on the hunt for a great treasure.

What Olivia loves most about teaching is helping students discover beauty and create something meaningful together. She believes music is a gift, one that connects people and builds confidence. In her classroom, students can expect to sing, speak, and move from the moment they walk in the door. It’s joyful, hands-on, and full of energy. Her favorite thing about The Meadows School is the close-knit, family feel and the incredible support and resources available to teachers. With a fully stocked classroom and a supportive community around her, Olivia is able to focus on what she does best, helping students experience the magic of making music together.
