UMC Partnership for Recurring COVID-19 Testing
The Meadows School in Las Vegas has partnered with University Medical Center (UMC) to provide COVID-19 testing to a portion of its school community each week to better monitor and respond to the health and safety of those on campus quickly and efficiently as school resumes in person this fall.

“I am extremely excited and proud to provide this level of support for our community's health and wellness. Added to the rest of our protocols, our testing procedures allow us to make science-backed decisions that are in the best interests of our students, families, and staff,” states Jeremy Gregersen, Head of School.

Each week, UMC will be on-site for two days to host Meadows only testing on the school’s campus. A carefully planned schedule will ensure that all faculty and staff are tested every two weeks and that a sampling of students participate in the testing every week. Results of these COVID tests are returned with 48-72 hours to the individuals and the school, allowing the school to quickly identify positive cases so that individuals, families, classes, grades, or divisions can be quarantined as necessary and deep cleaning of affected areas can begin.

The decision to invest in on-site, rapid COVID testing was unanimously approved by the school’s Board of Trustees and is just one of the many additional safety measures implemented by the school to mitigate risk during these uncertain times. Earlier this month, the school announced a partnership with Remark Holdings to install thermal imaging cameras at each entrance to the school’s four main divisions. Enhanced cleaning protocols, health and wellness guidelines, and modification of on-campus spaces to maximize physical distancing have also been implemented to protect the school community.

For those families still desiring to keep their Meadows student at home, the school has invested in additional hardware and software to engage the student through remote learning.
