TMS Junior Awarded The President's Volunteer Service Award & The Yellow Rose

TMS eleventh grade student Mizara Norton was awarded The President’s Volunteer Service Award. Mizara volunteered more than 100 hours to receive the prestigious Gold Award!

Here is some background information about the award:

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.

Since her Freshman year, Mizara has given more than 500 hours to 20 various charities including her own 501c3, Club It Forward. Since its launch in 2008, the non-profit is dedicated to providing equipment, funds, and opportunity for all young people across Las Vegas to learn, play, and love the game of golf. If you would like to read the feature about Mizara and Club It Forward, it can be found here in Future Champions Golf Magazine on page 12. Currently, she has 97 volunteer hours just in 2022 and is on track to reach over 100 hours for yet another Gold Award next year!

Also, Mizara was awarded The Yellow Rose from The National Charity League on August 28th for her dedication to her community.
