Fall Athletics Season Comes to an End

What an incredibly busy and successful fall athletic season we have had. In the fall season, we offer boys’ and girls’ cross country, boys’ and girls’ tennis, cheerleading, girls’ volleyball, girls’ golf, and football. We are currently working on a boys’ soccer program. Let me share the tremendous accomplishments from this season alone.

Our girls’ golf team traveled to beautiful Elko, Nevada to play in the state tournament. It was a two-day event, and the girls returned as state champions for the second year!  Mizara Norton won the individual title for the second consecutive year. Alexandria Wasserburger won second place, and Iris Sim won third place. The Meadows School swept the top prizes.

Our girls’ tennis team brought home the state title for the ninth consecutive year, and our boys were also victorious state champions. Sophia Yang was the individual state champion (for the second year in a row), and Katherine Chau came in third in singles. Beverly Wang and Miranda Paek were doubles state champions (for the second year in a row), with Elle Bekhor and Elizabeth Donaldson winning second in the doubles competition. On the boys’ side, Alberto Pereira and Phillippe Kosyagin were doubles state champions. Kiran Reddy won second place, Chris Stewart won third, and Steven Tian won fourth in the singles competition.

Isabella Lopez qualified for state in cross country, achieving a personal record and finishing 28th in the state.

Our volleyball team had an undefeated league season and brought home the regional and state titles for the second year.

Finally, our football team fought through many obstacles to bring home the regional and state titles! The season culminated at Allegiant Stadium for a truly amazing experience that the Meadows community had a chance to share.  And while winning is not everything, it sure makes all the effort, hard work, adversity, blood, sweat, and tears that much more worth it!

On to winter! Let’s continue to work hard and support each other as a culture and community. GO Mustangs!
