Winter Sports Wrap-Up & Spring Season Highlights

The Upper School winter athletic season was an incredibly successful one for our school's teams. The boys bowling team achieved an impressive victory by winning the regional championship, demonstrating talent and hard work. Similarly, our girls bowling team shone, with freshman Cayla Sylvain finishing 2nd in the state tournament. It is always inspiring to see young athletes make such significant contributions to their teams, and it bodes well for the future of our program.

Another standout performer from the winter season was senior Zack Ramsey, who won the state title in wrestling for the 2nd consecutive year. This achievement is a testament to his dedication and perseverance in the sport, and he has set an excellent example for the rest of the team to follow.

The girls basketball program made tremendous strides by qualifying for the regional playoffs and showed talent and toughness with a great performance in the tournament. The girls team is young and has a bright future ahead. Players Savannah Searcy, Evie de Wit, Alexa Carambas, and Tessa Lalanne will make a strong core for the 23-24 school year. Meanwhile, Senior Jake Bevacqua surpassed his 1000th point in basketball, an impressive milestone that reflected his skill and hard work. His team's victory in the regional championship and as state runner-up was a fantastic achievement for the program. The team will also return strong with talented players including Cyrus Hutchison, Jeremiah Toby, and Williams Quinn. They will play a major role in our move to 3A.

As the winter season ends, our spring sports teams have also been performing well. Junior Aiden Otano took his 100th career hit as a Mustang, and we are excited to see what he and the rest of the team will achieve in the upcoming regional and state tournaments. Hosting the baseball and softball regionals in May 2023 is a fantastic opportunity for our school, and we wish all our athletes the best of luck in their upcoming competitions. Finally, we would like to wish the boys golf and track teams the best of luck as players head to the state tournaments in Reno and down south, respectively. Go Mustangs!
