Grades 6-8: A Time to Explore, Prepare, and Celebrate
At The Meadows School, we make the most of your child’s challenging, exciting, and transformational Middle School years.
As students grow from children into young teenagers, and from concrete to abstract thinkers, we fully prepare them, academically and personally, for what’s next. We intentionally combine an accelerated, college-preparatory curriculum with close attention to every student’s individual development and emotional wellness. We also provide unique electives including Life (Kindness, Manners, Respect, and Responsibility), Web Design, Competitive Science, and Broadcast Technology to help students discover and deepen their own interests and abilities.
In our Middle School, your child can gain physical courage and technical prowess by joining a range of competitive athletic teams. Meadows teams include all students who want to participate—top players, novices, and everyone in between—and consistently win championships. Students further expand their original imaginations through our extensive arts program, taught by working professionals in visual arts, music, theater, and dance. Learning increasingly sophisticated techniques for self-expression and self-presentation, and building the resilience to overcome obstacles, your child grows as a problem-solver and leader.
In 8th grade, your child also begins working with one of our professional college counselors to plan an individually tailored high school curriculum.
By the time students enter our Upper School, they’ve already begun to think about who they are now, who they want to become, and how to achieve their highest aspirations.
