GOA
The mission of the Global Online Academy (GOA) is to reimagine learning to empower students and educators to thrive in a globally networked society.
There are more than 125 high-performing independent schools in the consortium, representing 30 countries and more than 30 states in the U.S. Juniors and seniors at The Meadows may take online courses through the GOA that are 100 percent Internet-based. Students may take only one online course at a time (but may take one Semester 1 and one Semester 2 online course). These courses will count towards graduation, appear on the transcript, and be used in the calculation of GPA. Students may not take a full load in addition to the online courses. Students will meet in the Middle & Upper School Library during the time scheduled to complete work for the Global Online Academy course. Students must also receive the signature of their current academic advisor, college counselor, and Upper School Director in order to register for these courses based on their motivational and organizational acumen.
GOA tuition fees for semester and year-long courses are covered by The Meadows. As a part of the GOA course enrollment agreement, students must commit to completing the entire term of the course.
