Performing Arts

Theatre at The Meadows starts with an academic lens, giving students classroom instruction for both performance and technical theatre. Actors take classes in multiple disciplines, studying a curriculum ranging from classic Shakespeare to modern musical comedy.

Meadows students have opportunities to experience all aspects of the theatre. When not performing on stage, Middle and Upper School students work to build sets, design costumes, run lights, stage manage, and operate sound for main stage productions.

In addition to auditioning for one of the main stage productions, students have the opportunity to perform (and tech) at assemblies and recitals as well as compete at the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Nevada Thespian Competition. Students have also been invited to perform at the American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
